Mexico. Within the framework of the Tourism Development Program called "Infrastructure and Tourist Equipment 2014", next Thursday, March 26, the scenic lighting of six buildings and public spaces will be inaugurated, considered of great value as tangible identity heritage of our city.
These buildings are the temples Santa María de Gracia and San Agustín, the Ibero-American Library, Plaza Universidad, the Rotonda de los Jaliscienses Ilustres and the Municipal Palace of Guadalajara. To these is added that the Metropolitan Cathedral, the Paseo Chapultepec and the monument to the Children Heroes, which for several months have had new lighting.
This new intervention amounts to 10 million Mexican pesos, which are contributed equally by the federal and state governments, within the program "Actions in tourism for the Metropolitan Area of Guadalajara (Scenic Lighting of Historical Monuments)". The objective of the municipal administration is to give a greater diffusion to the center, give it a greater tourist diffusion and have more visitors, both foreign, national and from the metropolitan area of Guadalajara.
They start from the basis that the Historic Center comes to constitute the main resource that Guadalajara has for cultural tourism, and through these illuminated buildings it will be possible for new investors to generate products that take people artistic representations, with experiences of the different eras, both colonial, independent and modern.
