Mexico. As part of coordinated work between the Federal Consumer Prosecutor's Office, Profeco, and the National Commission for the Efficient Use of Energy, Conuee, 34 certificates were canceled to market in the 2,440 municipalities of the country, LED lighting equipment for not complying with the corresponding Official Mexican Standard.
Through the work carried out, 31 brands of lighting equipment with light-emitting diodes (LEDs) were located that do not ensure the performance of the lighting technology and the conservation of the useful life declared by the manufacturers.
It should be noted that the equipment related to non-compliance with NOM 031 are those that were intended to be marketed in municipalities of the country, but not for domestic use.
The equipment to which Conuee canceled the certificate for not complying with the corresponding Official Mexican Standard are: American Electric Lighting brand, model ATB2 80BLEDE10 MVOLTR2 PCSS; brand ISB SOLA BASIC, model EVOLUTION LAG-U-HM+1SCO; GreenStar brand, model ASTRO AST36; IUSA brand, model SL-SM-80; IUSA brand, model SL-120; brand LED LUMINA, model SKYLUMINA W150; brand SIMON LIGHTING, model 88639; and BRAND ISB SOLA BASIC, model SOLALED URBAN.
Also, the brand CIVIK, model LM-60W-T4-COB-CK; BRAND LEADRAY, model 9-LUM-240; BRAND LIGHTENCO, model LEC-326060-S; TOSHIBA brand, model TLSRTLM77; ETS brand, model 326 240W; brand, SUPRALUX, model HSLL-B100; Brand OneEffect LED Lighting, model CH-TD450; brand GREEN COBRA, model GC1-80E-MV-NW-3-GY-530; brand ISB SOLA BASIC, model SOLALED TUNNEL-U65N57A; OSRAM brand, models 71313, OEC-L-110-745-M2-MV-GR71311 and OEC-L-055-745-M2; BRAND ACENTUX, model STC60EPI-50; MAXILED, SUPERLED and ILUMILED brands; S/M, model LAS VEGAS; brand YAPI LEDS, model FBS-160W; and ENERPANDA brand, model EP-60SLB.
Similarly, the brand HAVELLS, model NOVA 180W; zenaro brand, ZENAROLIGHTING model, EVERLI brand, SYL 60W model; brand HETEC DEVELOPMENT CO., LTO, model HTC02-80W; brand MM LEDSCREENS, model MM-AP-230; Ledilla brand, DSL120 and DGL060 models; brand SB LED, model HERA-150W; PRAHA LIGHTING brand, model MXS-108; brand Tishman Lighting Uii, model TLRL100B; brand maXluz, model PCA0350W; brand GDS LIGHTING, model STRADA G 188W and brand ALDER, model STLB-200.
It should be noted that in these joint actions Profeco will monitor that the companies that own trademarks to which the certificate was canceled accredit the validity of NOM 031 and compliance with the Regulations of the Law for Sustainable Use. While the Conuee will continue with laboratory studies to verify energy efficiency.
The actions are aimed at feedback to, if necessary, continue to avoid the commercialization of products that do not comply with the provisions of the Official Mexican Standards.
