Brazil. TecnoMultimedia InfoComm, the fair for the audio, video, lighting and integrated professional systems industry, which took place between May 12 and 14 at the São Paulo Expo, received about 14,261 visitors. Anticipating demand, the fair expanded its space by 33% relative to last year's event.
During the fair, several novelties for the sector were presented, from augmented reality glasses that improve the cinema experience for the hearing impaired, through corporate conference solutions, launches in commercial and residential automation, to projectors that will be at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. In total, the event brought together more than 60 brands. Among them, Epson, Sony, Philips, Panasonic, Audio-Technica, Shure, Discabos, 2MG, ICAP, Analog Way, Casio, NEC, Crestron, AAT Audio, Kramer, Harman and Barco.
In addition to innovations, the fair had in its programming various conferences, panels and technical seminars. In an unprecedented conference in the country, TecnoMultimedia InfoComm brought together nine specialists in the sector, representatives of the kramer, Barco, Crestron, Discabos, Harman, Audio-Technica, Extron, Shure and Christie brands to analyze the current market situation and the prospects for the next five years. Unanimously, they believe that there is room for growth and that, despite the difficult economic situation, they envision a stable growth line for the future.
All stressed the importance of the internet for the evolution of the market and believe that distributors and integrators should review the role they play. Executives believe that the convergence of audio and video with the internet is growing and more accelerated, and that all shareholders should be vigilant.
The panel was moderated by the Country Manager for Brazil, Nelson Baumgratz, CTS - D: "TecnoMultimedia InfoComm is InfoComm's most famous initiative in the country. The fair is an important space for updating and business to popularize the high technology that the segment provides. Brazil's vertical markets have not yet adopted these solutions and often do not do so due to lack of knowledge. Therefore, the first step is to introduce this culture into society, and that is one of our objectives with the event."
He also stressed that. "Our challenge now is to highlight that InfoComm is not just this event. It acts on four other fronts, as education to give foundation and basis to professionals; CTS certification, the only international accreditation certification in the sector; development of technical industry standards to standardize the performance of systems and support to associates, either through support sheets to market studies that draw the picture of the industry. We have the mission of developing the association in Brazil to promote the advancement of audiovisual communications through the growth of companies and the training of professionals," he adds.
According to InfoComm calculations, the AVI market is heading for global growth between 12% and 14% per year. In Latin America, an even more accelerated growth projection is estimated: 15% until the end of 2015. These data, together with the success of the second edition of TecnoMultimedia InfoComm, guarantee its third edition in the country already scheduled for May 10, 11 and 12, 2016.
"We are quite satisfied with the results achieved by the fair in its first two editions. We feel that the market is gaining strength and that the exhibitors leave satisfied in relation to the business generated in each event we have organized. And that is why we want to consolidate the event in the Brazilian corporate calendar, as well as already happening in other important markets, such as the United States, Mexico and Colombia. Brazil is a promising and important market, and we have set ourselves the challenge for the next editions to get manufacturers to anticipate and promote their launches here, before presenting them at the US version of the event, which takes place one to two months later, "reveals Max Jaramillo, director of Tecnomultimedia InfoComm.
