With Orad, Avid improves the offer of video solutions

Latin America. A few days ago the acquisition of the company Orad by Avid was completed, a business through which the latter will improve its offer of  video solutions aimed at the segments of live productions, sports and virtual sets.

AVI LATINOAMÉRICA spoke with Ariel Sardiñas, Sales Director for Avid Latin America, who explained that with this business Orad will disappear as a brand and its technologies will continue in the market under the name and support of Avid. This process of integration of both companies began on June 23 with the closing of the negotiation, in October the work teams will be integrated and everything should be completed by the first quarter of 2016.

He added that 90% of Orad's product line are different from Avid's, so there will be no technological impact on customers. And that is just the message that Ariel Sardiñas wants to convey to the customers of both companies, of tranquility, since they will not affect the equipment and systems they currently use.

Avid's Latin American sales team is strengthened after this negotiation. In total, there will be 24 people from the company, among those in charge of audio and video of Avid plus those who complement the team by Orad. To these are added the distributors in each country, which in some cases share.

"This acquisition opens Avid's doors to new markets. Specifically in Latin America, Orad has an important presence in Mexico, Brazil and Argentina, for spending some markets and offering us new customers, distributors and sales teams, with which we expect to have significant growth in the coming years, "concluded Ariel Sardiñas.
