Latin America. Sony is adding 4K HDR feature to its VPL-VW320ES home theater projector. As a way to prolong the momentum of the projector's first release at IFA 2015, Sony is offering customers a new firmware update to ensure they get the best possible image quality from their projectors.
This update reflects Sony's commitment to developing HDR support and ultimate image quality across its Home Cinema portfolio. It also provides a second life to the VPL-VW320ES, making it the third Sony Home Cinema projector in the existing range, after the VPL-VW5000ES and VPL-VW520ES models, to support the HDR 4K format.
Movie lovers will now have the opportunity to experience total immersion in the images presented on their VPL-VW320ES projector, enjoying HDR content with a high contrast ratio. HDR images are the closest thing to the representation of reality that our eyes can see on a daily basis, with a higher level of detail, high contrasts, greater color depth, brighter whites and deeper blacks.
Viewing content in 4K HDR gives customers the opportunity to observe this content in a way they've never experienced before, with 4K resolution offering four times more detail than standard HD. HDR can produce images of such quality and robustness, which make users feel as if they are watching the scene live. With HDR, you'll certainly believe it when you see it.
In addition, Sony has developed a new intuitive unified control protocol for its range of projectors, which facilitates the intuitive integration of different models used in the same installation.
The firmware update will be available at the end of May for new and existing customers.
