InfoComm. One of the great novelties unveiled at InfoComm Show 2016, was the addition of video support to the Tesira system of Biamp, a company that has been characterized by the transport and processing of audio during its 40 years of existence.
Ernesto Montañez, Area Manager for Central America and the Caribbean of Biamp Systems, explained to AVI LATINOAMÉRICA that "we are very happy because Biamp is venturing into video transport technology. The wheel is not being reinvented, we are adding the development that we have called Lux to Tesira."
Biamp's bet is that it is no longer necessary to use two separate systems to transport audio and video, now integrators have a very simple solution based on a system they already know.
He added that "this system uses the network infrastructure that customers have installed, thus minimizing implementation and ownership costs. Current Tesira users can include this high-quality video transport, with 4k content, just by making an upgrade and without having to incur high costs. The product will be available in January."
Finally, Ernesto Montañez pointed out that the Latin American market for Biamp during 2016 has been very interesting, gaining ground with different solutions such as Devio, aimed at small meeting rooms in which usually not much money is invested in technology. "We are in a very good moment and we believe that there is an economic situation that we can take advantage of to help executives travel less with collaborative solutions."
