Apple introduced its wireless headphones, the AirPods

Latin America. Apple introduced AirPods, innovative headphones that use advanced technology to reinvent the way we listen to music, make calls, enjoy movies and TV shows, play games, and interact with Siri, delivering an unprecedented wireless audio experience.

AirPods eliminate the complications of wired headphones. Just by opening the lid of its innovative charging case and with a simple touch, they are configured and ready to work with your iPhone® and Apple Watch®. Its advanced sensors know when you're listening, and play and pause your music automatically. With AirPods, two taps are enough to access Siri, your favorite personal assistant.

This revolutionary experience is made possible by Apple's new W1 chip, which enables AirPods to deliver superior sound quality and industry-leading battery life, in a completely wireless design. The AirPods will be available from the end of October.

"AirPods are the first headphones to deliver an unprecedented wireless audio experience, and with Apple's new W1 chip they offer innovative features such as high-quality sound, long battery life and automatic setup," said Philip Schiller, Apple's Senior Vice President of Worldwide Marketing. "AirPods are simple and magical. They have no switches or buttons, they connect automatically and very simply to your Apple devices and allow you to access Siri with just two taps. We can't wait to see users using them with the iPhone 7 and Apple Watch Series 2."

With AirPods, connecting and using wireless headphones has never been easier. Simply open the charging case near your iPhone and with a simple tap the AirPods are immediately set up with all the devices connected to your iCloud® account, including your iPad® and Mac®. AirPods will be connected and ready to use when you need them; just put them on when you want to hear something. AirPods can go from a call on your iPhone to music on your Apple Watch simply and intelligently.

Apple's new W1 chip delivers unprecedented innovations, thanks to dual optical sensors and accelerometers installed on each AirPod that work with the W1 chip to detect when they're in your ears and start playback only when you're ready to listen.

Just take them out of your ears to pause the music automatically, or pull out just one to talk on the phone and resume playback automatically when you put it back on. Access Siri with two taps on your AirPods to select and control your music, turn the volume up or down, know how much battery is left, or ask for any other task.

An additional accelerometer on each AirPod detects when you're speaking and allows the two beamforming microphones to focus on the sound of your voice and filter out external noises to make your voice sound clearer than ever.

Thanks to the very low power consumption of the W1 chip, which is about a third of what traditional wireless chips consume, the innovative AirPods offer you 5 hours of audio on a single charge.

The specially designed AirPods case holds additional charges to deliver an industry-leading playback time of more than 24 hours*, ensuring AirPods are charged and ready to use when you need them.

Price and availability
The new Apple-designed wireless AirPods with an included charging case will be available for $159 at Apple.com and Apple Stores starting in late October.
