Latin America. The C636 is Harman's new AKG microphone aimed at professional singers for its reliability and performance, In addition to a custom capsule with hand-selected components, the C636 is designed to reject feedback, handle noise so vocalists can fully concentrate on their performance.
"A singer's voice is their most important instrument, and the AKG C636 captures their sound in the finest way unfiltered, uncompressed and as natural as possible," said Erich Gaertner, Product Line Manager at Harman Professional.
The AKG C636 features three proprietary technologies designed to solve several common problems singers face on stage, including feedback, noise handling and pop noise.
• Essentially eliminates feedback by combining a uniform cardioid polar pattern across the frequency spectrum with a suspension and grid specially designed for the capsule. This unique approach prevents unwanted sound reflections on the back of the capsule.
• Innovate by integrating the world's first double shock suspension system, greatly reducing unwanted tampering noise. The capsule sits on a highly absorbent rubber bearing that eliminates any structural noise, while an adjustable net cancels out vibrations over a wide range of frequencies.
• It has a multilayer protection system prevents unwanted pop noises. The protection system consists of the grid, a layer of foam behind the grid, and a layer of computer-modeled mesh magnetically coupled above the capsule, providing the singers with a clear vocal performance. This three-layer protection system is virtually unique to AKG and sets the new standard for pop noise suppression on the market.
In addition, thanks to a robust zinc alloy housing with an elastic steel grille and a 24-carat golden capsule, the C636 is extremely robust and durable for a lifetime of continuous use.
The AKG C636 will be available for sale in April 2017.
