Latin America. During InfoComm 2017, Panasonic's focus was on high-performance video, display and projection products for its customers in the entertainment and hospitality industry, with which technological solutions are developed that can help such customers improve the experience of their visitors and guests in mass audience venues, from hotels, casinos, museums, shopping malls or theme parks.
The company's goal is to provide innovative solutions to four main business areas: entertainment, integrated hotels, sports, and professional audio and video markets (including religious venues, education, content streaming, and sales promotion).
Innovative solutions for entertainment
Panasonic also showed advances and updates in different technologies for the entertainment industry, among which are:
BalloonCam
The BalloonCam combines the controlled mobility concept of a drone with the ability to float from a large balloon and the addition of a 360º video camera to create an unparalleled video platform. With unique angles, the BalloonCam can be used in stadiums or arenas to increase the visual experience of visitors during sporting or musical events.
LinkRayTM
LinkRay is a communication technology through the visible light spectrum that allows the visitor of a museum or shopping center to use their smartphone, in combination with the free app available, to access information emitted by LED light sources, such as screens or luminaires. The information is downloaded and displayed on the smartphone screen so that the visitor has access to additional content, commercial offers or digital coupons. During InfoComm 2017 it was announced that the first American museum with this technology is the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles, California.
High-speed mapping and tracking system for real-time projection
This system will allow to show images in high resolution (1920x1080) with brightness of 10,000 lumens that can be mapped to follow objects that move quickly, such as artists on stage, with masking and trimming applied on the video and sent to the projector in real time. The technology is combined with Panasonic 3-Chip DLPTM SOLID SHINE high brightness projectors, adapted for rental and scenic applications.
