Latin America. Described as "the world's most advanced cinema subwoofer", with a frequency range extending from 18 Hz to 120 Hz and peak SPL of 145 dB, MAG Audio's new MAG THOR was introduced to redefine the cinema experience, by reproducing the low frequencies on the soundtracks with capabilities that go beyond conventional subwoofers.
This has been achieved thanks to a combination of the ingenious engineering of the MAG Audio team and the use of Powersoft's innovative M-Force M-Drive amplifier. This has the ability to give an exceptional output of 5000 W of nominal amplification power and also marks the entry of the revolutionary technology of the Italian manufacturer to the world of cinema.
When the MAG Audio engineering team started designing the MAG THOR they had only one goal in mind: to impress and captivate the audience in film. "The whole history of film development points to that, and the sound system is no exception. The future lies in a smarter approach to the entire system design, such as modern 3D submersion sound formats or new technologies, and M-Force offers a giant leap forward," said Ivan Kuzmenko, Audio System Engineer at MAG Audio.
From the moment Powersoft's M-Force was announced, he knew it would take the Ukrainian company one step closer to its purpose. "Because of its unique combination of massive SPL, subsonic frequency response and extremely low distortion, it would give the MAG THOR the ability to reveal features of cinema sound tracks that no other conventional subwoofer can — details that the film director and sound crew had thought of while working in the studio but are rarely available to cinema patterns. And that's the message mag Audio's sales team will underscore in theaters looking to immerse their audiences with a new sense of realism."
The new system can be included to upgrade existing cinema sound mounts without the need to modernise the entire sound system, but due to vibration customers will be advised to secure the boxes firmly to a surface.
