Axis Expands Portfolio of Intelligent Audio Solutions

Latin America. Axis Communications expands its offering of intelligent network-based audio solutions, the use of which goes beyond traditional security. With a new audio bridge that allows integration between analog and network audio systems, users can benefit from the advantages of a comprehensive system, while maintaining existing analog hardware. In addition, the Swedish firm also presents a new microphone console that, in combination with Axis network speakers, creates a complete public address system.

The latest additions to Axis Communications expand the use of audio to improve business operations and security. The network audio bridge and microphone console enable different types of use, such as background music, promotional ads in retail stores or paging solutions in education systems. It is possible to combine this with Axis network speakers in one system, without the need for central electronic equipment. Axis network audio systems are based on open standards, which means they are easy to integrate with other systems.

Many systems use analog speakers that are not compatible with digital speakers or digital audio sources. With AXIS C8033 Network Audio Bridge, you can play music from an analog output such as a mobile, tablet or professional transmission box through Axis network speakers or connect a digital audio source such as AXIS Audio Player to play music on an analog speaker system.

Axis also announced 2N® SIP Mic, a compatible network microphone console from 2N, part of Axis' solution offering, for use in public address systems. This smart network microphone console offers 12 configurable buttons and allows flexible paging in multiple zones, to make live announcements and play pre-recorded messages.

With the new SIP Mic 2N, Axis network speakers become complete public address systems, perfect for the education sector. Customers will have cost-effective and easy-to-use solutions by taking advantage of all the benefits offered by a digital system, as the network audio bridge allows existing analog devices to be connected to Axis audio systems. Network audio also means the system is simple to scale and flexible enough to adapt to changing customer needs. It's easy to add or remove devices instantly, compared to analog systems where hardware, software, and cable installation need to be replaced.

"Using the intelligence of a network video system with audio can be one of the most efficient ways to solve the problems facing organizations today. Retailers, for example, can manage lines by informing customers that checkouts on other floors have fewer people. In schools, administrators can alert a student who has been seen out of class. These two examples are only a fraction of the potential benefits that digital audio provides. Taking into account that we have driven the shift from analog to digital in the video surveillance sector, these new products play an important role in the development of the audio market," says Francisco Ramírez, Country Manager for Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean at Axis Communications.
