Colombia. 32 rooms equipped with 21 computers and an interactive board, received an equal number of educational institutions in the city of Medellín as part of the connectivity program being carried out by the local authorities.
In addition, each school was fitted with a wireless network, a computer in each classroom, laptops were assigned and computers were equipped for the teachers' room and libraries.
This project, led by the Medellín Digital program, UNE EPM Telecomunicaciones and the Mayor's Office of Medellín, began to be implemented in the 32 educational institutions since 2010.
In total there will be more than 27,000 students benefited, although the figure will increase next year when a new school period begins. This program seeks to optimize access and use of new information technologies within the educational process of students
During the official presentation of the digital classrooms, an interactive visual show was held that had as its protagonist the concept of connectivity with a show of lights, music and interaction through state-of-the-art devices such as iPads and smartphones, and in which a symbolic key of each classroom was delivered.
