International. The company Sony continues to restructure its management plant, seeking to respond to the challenges it faces for the coming years.
With the new strategy, it seeks to position the areas of digital imaging, video games and mobile devices as the three central pillars of its electronics business, and its future objective is to concentrate its resources in these areas to further strengthen business.
These include mobile devices that Sony has identified as one of its core electronics business areas, including smartphones, tablets and PCs. In addition, it seeks to accelerate its efforts to drive innovation and the creation of new businesses.
The restructuring includes the creation of new lines of business as well as the disappearance of others. It will create the medical business unit and the sound and personal image business, they will be realigned as the digital imaging business group.
Among those that will disappear are the consumer products and services and professional devices and solutions groups. In addition, the home entertainment group will be integrated into the personal audio business and re-established as a sound and home entertainment business group.
All these changes come with the arrival of new President and CEO Kazuo Hirai (pictured), announced earlier this year. Precisely the new president indicated that he will be directly in charge of the home entertainment business, which includes the television segment, which has the challenge of increasing profitability.
