International. Shure and Yamaha teamed up to jointly develop the Dante network, which will enable detection and patching operations for Shure's ULX-D digital wireless system receivers such as the ULXD4D and ULXD4Q, from any Yamaha CL series console.
The result of this work, which can be used from June, is version 1.6 of the CL series firmware and version 1.3 of the ULX-D, which will not require the Dante Controller PC software that is currently required, thus providing its users with a greater number of advanced possibilities of integrated control.
Kazunori Kobayashi, general manager of Yamaha's professional audio division, said: "Our collaboration with Shure has resulted in the communication network that will give our users a completely improved working environment by gaining direct and efficient control. And more sources of innovation will also come in the future from Yamaha and Shure."
The next versions of the firmware go beyond providing Dante input-by-output connectivity to the system, allowing for interrelated and enhanced operation at the same time. Both companies are committed to continuing this advancement in audio network control and ease of use.
Sandy LaMantia, President and CEO of Shure, said, "Both companies share a strong commitment to providing our customers with high-quality products. Our collaboration regarding the interoperability of Shure's ULD-D wireless system with Yamaha CL series consoles is a perfect example of this."
