Brazil. The Rainforest Alliance is an NGO dedicated to biodiversity conservation. For his new awareness campaign he sought producer Andrés Levin, owner of Content OS and expert in the development of inspiring content for marketing campaigns, who decided he wanted to take the project to a new level.
In order to offer viewers a truly authentic picture of the environment, he traveled to the depths of the Tijuca Jungle to record an extraordinary musical and cinematographic production, but it required resistant and reliable equipment , capable of withstanding extreme conditions and a high degree of humidity.
To achieve this, he used KSM diaphragm microphones and Beta condenser microphones to record his recently completed work 'I'm Alive—Rainforest Alliance Sessions—Foresta de Tijuca', in which Caetano Veloso, Lenine, Criolo, Emicida and Pretinho da Serrinha participated.
Because of the versatility of Beta microphones, Levin also used them to record the natural environment of the rainforest – including insects, animals and other sounds of the environment.
"The combination of extreme environmental conditions, with an extremely short space of time to record some of the most famous artists of the moment and with many variables that emerged dynamically, created a situation with great potential to become a nightmare if we had not chosen the appropriate equipment, Levin said.
To microphone the vocalists, Levin used the KSM42 two-diaphragm vocal microphone, the KSM32/CG and the KSM32/SL single-diaphragm microphone, which provided consistent frequency response and performance. With a noisy large generator on site and a team of more than 40 people, Levin also needed an intra-aural monitoring system that would allow each of the artists to concentrate on their own music, avoiding distractions from nearby noises.
For the celebration of Earth Day on April 22, the production I'm Alive, with a duration of six minutes, was premiered. The video can be viewed on Youtube or www.rainforest-alliance.org/ImAliveBrasil .
