International. Ikusi and Samsung Electronics presented their airport information solution that integrates Ikusi's dolphin FIDS system directly into Samsung Smart Signage information monitors, without the need to use an external PC.
This solution makes the dolphin FIDS system compatible with the new intelligent control technology embedded in Samsung Electronics' DMD series professional monitors of the second generation of the Samsung Smart Signage (SSSP) platform, Samsung Electronics' integrated digital signage platform, providing additional capacity for real-time content ingestion.
This new functionality provides advantages to airport managers such as saving time in updating information and simplifying installation and maintenance tasks, with consequent cost savings. On the other hand, passengers have permanently updated information on the arrival and departure times of the flights.
Ikusi has been responsible for developing the new functionality and has made modifications to the software in its dolphin FIDS airport information solution to make it compatible with the second generation SSSP of Samsung Electronics professional monitors.
Another novelty that it incorporates is the possibility for the operator to share the information with other agents of the airport business (airlines, handling agents ...) and in a mobile environment (smartphones, tablets).
In addition to the functionalities described, Ikusi's dolphin solution has also been designed to make the FIDS system compatible with an advertising content module that makes it possible to monetize the installation of the system through direct advertising and indirect income due to the increase in commercial activity.
This passenger information solution is completed with an automatic public address system that uses both pre-recorded messages and text-to-speech in various languages and dialects and an information system in interactive kiosks throughout the airport that results in the improvement of the passenger experience.
