International. Dataton brings a strong new version of its Multi-screen Watchout software. Version six adds a set of features for more advanced mapping projection, multi-source video playback, 3D modeling, pre-visualization, all by a revamped user interface.
"Watchout 6 is the most important update in the software's 15-year history. It's about to burst with powerful new features, including new creative tools and smoother workflows for 3D projection and mapping. It is scheduled for launch in spring 2015," said Mike Fahl, Chief Software Architect at Dataton.
Producers will appreciate the new 3D projector feature that makes it easier to precisely program complex 3D geometry projections. With Watchout 6, any number of virtual projectors can be placed around a 3D object on the screen, then repositioned and corrected to create the perfect projection settings.
It features new marker-based calibration to match the on-screen settings to the real-world object. It calculates all the parameters automatically, the alignment of the virtual 3D projector to the exact location on the final projection.
Watchout 6 offers pre-visualization, which allows you to use 3D models as accessories to create a realistic simulation of the entire presentation environment. Before you arrive at the venue, you'll already know how your stage looks from different angles of the audience; you will have already made the necessary adjustments, and you will have already saved valuable setup time.
