Ecuador. The EdTech company that created Brightspace, the first truly integrated learning platform (ILP) announced that the Yachay Public Company, an Ecuadorian government entity that manages the construction of the "Knowledge City, selected the Brightspace platform to create a world-class virtual learning environment for students and professors at yachay Experimental Technology Research University.
Yachay, the first planned city in Ecuador that incorporates the Research University of Experimental Technology (Yachay Tech), required a platform capable of supporting the unique needs of students and teachers and for this it brought them together in qualification categories including technical conditions and experience in the market.
The Brightspace platform addressed the needs of college users, who now have instant access to academic resources, support, and learning tools to help them meet their goals. Brightspace also scored highest in each rating category among all participating vendors. The first phase of implementation took place in July 2014.
Juan Carlos Moreno, Manager of Education, Science and Technology of Yachay EP said "with Brightspace, we now have an innovative platform that has greatly improved the learning experience for students and supports the proper development of new institutions. For the first phase of the project, D2L solutions were implemented and tested by a group of students and professors from the General Leveling in Integrated Science and Engineering."
Yachay Tech is part of the Yachay Knowledge City that is built in the north of Ecuador, has the responsibility of generating learning tools to support entrepreneurs, innovators and scientists through business incubators, technology parks, technology transfer centers, risk centers for industrial prototypes and diverse business development based on research.
