Colombia. TecnoMultimedia InfoComm Colombia confirmed the sustained growth that the fair has had during its five years in this country. And in 2014 the growth was marked, in part, by the change of headquarters. For the first time it was held in Bogotá, the Colombian capital.
The numbers do not lie and confirm the success of the fair. The floor of the commercial sample in 2014 had a growth of 63% over the previous year and by 2015 it will have 40% more. The number of visitors follows this trend. In 2013 there were 2,134 visitors on the two days of the fair and for 2014 visitors rose to 3,548.
The success of the fair was also manifested by exhibitors and visitors, who declared themselves satisfied with this version for its size, number and quality of attendees, and the business opportunities that were generated for the following months.
Training grows
There is a growing interest of members of the AV industry in staying up-to-date and trained. This was reflected in the number of attendees to the program of conferences organized by certified InfoComm instructors, which provided the necessary tools to be more competitive in this industry.
Among the conferences that were most welcomed were: Important elements for a quality videoconference; Collaboration at the Center of the Digital Universe; Understanding AVB and its advantages; Design of Line Arrays in concert halls; AV Facilities in the Educational Environment; New Audio Technologies in AV Integration Projects; Mapping: The world is your canvas; Design of efficient RF networks.
In addition, the parallel hall of technical-commercial talks, by exhibitors who showed the latest in their technologies and trends, was always full.
And to encourage training among future industry professionals, InfoComm led a visit of students from related careers, who, on a special schedule, attended each of the exhibitors and were very interested in the conferences.
Women united
Led by InfoComm, in 2014 women from the Latin American AV industry began to meet within the framework of TecnoMultimedia InfoComm. The first meeting was held in Mexico and thanks to its success, the experience was replicated in Colombia.
There were about 30 women who attended the meeting in Bogotá and agreed to continue meeting to create a network that allows them to provide support, training and strengthen their role within the industry.
Such has been the success of the gathering of women in the AV industry around the world, meetings that began at infoComm Show in Orlando a couple of years ago, that for 2015 the association announced the creation of a Women's Council, which aims to provide a global community of InfoComm members and other professionals committed to the support and empowerment of women working in the AV and technology industries.
In 2015, TecnoMultimedia InfoComm Colombia will have several novelties. In addition to a 40% growth in the commercial exhibition, there will be three days in which attendees can enjoy the latest developments in the audiovisual industry. In addition to the InfoComm program, CEDIA will organize and moderate a two-day conference program, aimed specifically at residential systems contractors.
The fair will be held from November 10 to 12 in Hall Six of the Corferias Convention Center in Bogotá, Colombia.
