Technology, key to the success of universities

Latin America. Today, the new world of work demands that employees be better prepared to face the ongoing challenges posed by global markets. To achieve this, companies of all levels need to take into account the inclusion of technology to facilitate the implementation of training programs, continuing education or Corporate Universities.

In this sense, technology allows companies to promote the development of the professional careers of their employees, directly impacting the business. Including technological tools in corporate training platforms helps, without a doubt,  that employees feel a greater affinity towards their workplaces, especially for the Millennial generation, who seek that companies facilitate continuous training that allows them to advance in their careers. A thirst for learning that managers must be able to take advantage of, creating an organizational structure that fulfills it, offering teams time, motivation, recognition, guidance and above all the necessary technology so that this talent can take advantage of the educational resources of the company with the flexibility and security they need.

On the other hand, diverse worldviews, work styles and definitions of 'working hours' highlight the need for organisations to focus on the development of information mobility. This capability helps employees (regardless of generation or work style) access the business information they need, in the ideal format, on the right device, to complement their work. All this points to a potential revolution in Corporate Universities. While technology is taking center stage, the power of students to control their own learning methods is also increasing.

In addition and regarding the importance of technology inclusion in corporate universities, we have officially arrived at what experts call the "Mixed Learning Age", which means above all the growth of the adoption of non-traditional education environments, in order to bring together more students with blended learning options and advanced technologies. According to a recent report by the Center for Digital Education, 2016 will be the year of the increase of technologies in any classroom to positively impact people's experience.

Faced with these challenges, at Ricoh we have Unified Communication Systems (UCS) such as Videoconferencing systems, Interactive Whiteboards and Business Video Projectors, which can be integrated in a scalable and simple way to any Corporate University platform, in order to obtain adequate and state-of-the-art technological tools so that employees can get the most out of any learning.

Undoubtedly, including Ricoh technology will allow organizations to create a corporate culture based on deep innovation, covering the needs required by the business and promoting added value among their employees. At the same time, the retention and attraction of talent will be one of the main beneficiaries of these technological advances.
