Brazil. Sabesp, the company responsible for the integral water cycle in the state of São Paulo, has acquired 144 LCD panels of Christie videowall to install in 14 control rooms spread throughout the region. WPM Informática has been the company responsible for the supply and integration of the entire project after a bidding process.
Sabesp is a mixed-capital company that was founded in 1973 and is currently responsible for water supply and wastewater collection and treatment in the 367 municipalities of the state of São Paulo. It is considered one of the largest sanitation companies in the world in terms of population served. It supplies water to 27.9 million people and provides wastewater collection services to 21.5 million people.
The 144 panels purchased by Sabesp correspond to the Christie FHD492-XB model, manufactured and available only in Brazil. The video walls, located in 14 Sabesp operations centers, are mainly used to monitor and manage applications that manage water and sewer systems. They are also used for project presentations and technical training.
"The client was looking to expand and modernize its operational control rooms to improve its operations and customer service," explained Fernando Morisco, Project Manager at WPM Informática. "With the installation of these new video walls, all operations can now be seen by Sabesp managers, supervisors and operators, facilitating the visualization of critical points and helping in operational decision making."
"The project meets our expectations very well, not only in relation to the quality and performance of the products supplied, but also in terms of the advantages it has brought to our company," said Anderson Vicente Catarino, manager of Sabesp's Operations division. "The videowall technology allows us to better manage the processes, which has made our work model evolve and improve the response time to the daily demands of the operation. Another highlight is the service and support provided by WPM, which has left us very satisfied with its efficiency."
Most video walls have a 6x2 layout (6.5 meters long and 1.20 meters high), but the interface of the application is divided into three parts. That is to say that there are three 2x2 panels next to each other that work individually.
The Christie FHD492-XB LCD panel has 49 inches, full HD resolution, 450 nits of brightness, ultra-narrow bezel and vertical and horizontal orientation capability, at a very competitive price.
