Colombia. Within the framework of the events that the distributor Videonet has been holding in different cities in Colombia, AVI Latin America spoke with Luis López during his last session in Medellín, who told details of how the company is doing this year and the results it has had in these events.
"We are doing this national tour with the Evolution Tour 2024, where we have an exhibition of the latest technologies from our partners, manufacturers in the professional video and audio industry, well recognized in the world, who are accompanying us, such as RGB Link, Kramer Electronics, Aten. We have toured the cities of Barranquilla, Pereira, Cali, at this moment we are here in Medellín, and we will close this 2024 cycle in Bogotá."
He added that the objective of these events is to show the solutions in connectivity. "They are complementary brands. There is the connectivity part, with microphones, with matrices, it is the AV world with connectivity, that is, the entire matrix connected with a source of supply of reliable equipment, with backup equipment, medium-term guarantee and that they can put together their projects, make their proposals to end users with good equipment that is not so expensive and that allows generating business opportunities in many vertical markets that we have throughout the world. country."
And it is that one of the characteristics of all the brands that accompany Videonet in these events is that they are good technology, alternative brands to other brands a little more top, but they are very good brands, with very good products and very good prices.
"It is the experience we have acquired over the years. Not all brands suit all markets, so we have found brands that are very well suited to our market, which is an emerging market, where it is not a fully high-end market. There are many projects that are done with medium or entry-level teams, because budgets are definitely a little tight. So, this versatility and these manufacturers allow us to do very good projects with good designs and good performance and long-term reliability. We are talking about two-year, three-year, five-year warranties for products that can work 7x24," added Luis López.
Regarding the behavior of the Colombian market in the AV industry this year, he pointed out that the performance is a bit slow in the first half of the year. For the second half of the year, they expect it to close a little busier, because the budgets must be executed by the institutions, both public and private.
"At this time we are waiting for the release of resources, especially in the public sector, where there are some projects that have been designed for some time, they are approved, but due to lack of authorization for the release of resources they have not been executed. We know that, in this next quarter, in Q3 and Q4, that is going to happen," he concluded.
Videonet's tour of the cities of Colombia ends on July 31 in Bogotá.
