International. Prolight + Sound announced all the details of the 2025 version of the fair, which will be held from April 8 to 11 and will celebrate its 30th anniversary of presenting the latest in technology for events and entertainment in Europe.
Mira Wölfel, Head of Prolight + Sound, emphasised: "With the anniversary edition, we want to offer exhibitors and partners, but above all visitors, a particularly inspiring environment with an increased technical focus and optimised networking opportunities. My sincere thanks go in particular to our association partners and our new trade fair advisory board, who are providing us with significant support in the future development of the fair. Above all, the 30th anniversary of Prolight + Sound is an occasion to look to the future with great motivation."
The upcoming Prolight + Sound will have three main themes:
Under the title "ProGreen: Drives for a more sustainable event industry", the latest trends and developments driving the environmentally friendly orientation and design of the event industry will be highlighted.
Another theme is "FutureScapes: Worlds of Experience between Immersion and AI" is dedicated to the fascinating possibilities offered by the application of immersive technologies and artificial intelligence for the creation of entertainment experiences.
And finally, "MultiTech: Flexible and smart" focuses on innovative and versatile technologies and concepts and their influence on the event industry.
In each of the areas for live events and entertainment, Prolight + Sound will have new features. In the case of theatrical and scenic technology, it will have a redesigned and expanded area, specially adapted to the needs of the theater community. An integral part of the concept is VPLT's "Theatre College", which offers knowledge on relevant topics with high-quality bilingual seminars and workshops, conducted in collaboration with leading industry associations.
ProAudio: Brilliant sound and new formats
In the open-air Live Sound Arena, visitors will be able to re-experience the sound of powerful PA systems in real-world conditions. At the Silent Stage, the company InEar will present its innovative integrated sound technology solutions.
The "ProAudio College", organized in cooperation with the German association of sound engineers "Verband Deutscher Tonmeister e.V." (VDT), offers high-level international workshops and seminars for audio professionals and young people interested in the live and studio sector.
ProLight: from sustainable to smart
In 2025, Prolight + Sound trade visitors will once again be able to find the world's largest range of lighting products in the event industry (Hall 12.1). One of the main topics of interest will be sustainable and energy-efficient solutions, as well as the integration of artificial intelligence into modern lighting technology.
The "Women in Lighting Lounge" will be the central meeting point for professional women and interested newcomers, a place for interviews with inspiring personalities and a source of information about professional scenarios. Of course, men are also welcome to come and learn more about the topics.
Image Creation Hub: Advanced Moving Image Offering
The Image Creation Hub, realized in cooperation with the German Federal Association of Television Cameras (BVFK), will become an even more attractive meeting point for image and video technology in 2025. An expanded study area, an impressive video wall and specialized workshops will open up new perspectives for participants.
The Camera College's extensive programme of panels and lectures offers interesting perspectives on current industry topics related to technology, security and the future of the moving image. With interactive offerings such as the Camera Future Congress and a visit to a modern mobile unit on site, the area will become a practice-oriented learning and networking hub.
For the future of the sector: green initiatives
With the theme "ProGreen", the Prolight + Sound 2025 aims to take into account the growing awareness of ecological responsibility in the industry. In the anniversary year, the topics of sustainability, energy efficiency and green events will receive even greater attention, also in the main program of the Main Stage (Hall 11.0).
Focus on training and growth of the sector
The specialized support program will be further expanded in the anniversary year. The selected conference offer will be further geared towards specific subject matter topics with a technical focus. As part of the Prolight + Sound Colleges (ProAudio College, Camera College, Theatre College), the event offers high-level bilingual seminars and workshops on a variety of current industry topics. For the first time, professionals and newcomers from the events and entertainment industry will also give lectures on their own specialist topics.
With the "Messe Frankfurt Business Club" and the "Hosted Buyer Programme", Prolight + Sound 2025 also offers attractive VIP visitor programs aimed at planners and decision-makers from theatre, amusement park and space rental companies.
