El Salvador. The Salvadoran government has focused its efforts on growing the country's economy, becoming a regional benchmark in the manufacture of intelligent lighting systems.
And one of the last steps to meet that goal was an agreement with the North American company Sensity Systems, which manufactures lighting based on Light Sensory Network technology, LSN, for it to install a branch in El Salvador.
The person in charge of signing the agreement with the company was Mauricio Funes, Salvadoran president, who indicated that the initial investment is close to US $ 500 million over the next three years and will generate about 3,000 jobs, between direct and indirect.
With the arrival of this company, they expect the arrival of two or three other important companies, framed in a plan through which they expect that foreign investments related to lighting technology will have arrived in 2016 for US $ 1,300 million.
For the workforce training that Sensity Systems will require in El Salvador, they are seeking partnerships with local universities in order to have the specific knowledge.
The arrival of this company will be four phases. The first is to set up a distribution center for finished imported products. The second is to set up an assembly and manufacturing plant. The third is to set up the distribution center to reach all of Central America and lead the expansion to South America.
The fourth is to start the production of materials and concentrate all its processes in an area near the airport. The development of these phases is what must take place in three years.
