Colombia. As part of the Christmas lighting in the city of Medellín, throughout the month of December a mapping is being carried out on the Metropolitan Cathedral, through which the history of the city and its department, Antioquia, is traced.
The companies Diorama Post participated in the project with the script and production of the mapping content; the technical direction and projection was in charge of Sonic Design; for the logistics part, Era Electrónica was appointed; and interactive mapping by Dream House.
In the planning and execution of the mapping, three months of previous work were invested to carry out all the audiovisual production. Now, for the projection, 18 Barco projectors of 20,000 lumens are used to give life to the façade of the cathedral for ten minutes that the presentation lasts.
The mapping recounts the history of the city and the department since 1890, the year in which the construction of the city's cathedral began. In total, there are five segments that cover the progress of the region, including its transport systems, moving from the train to the metro, and always playing with the structure of the cathedral.
The screening is open to the public every night in December and until the fifth of January. To see the video of the work done click here.
