Panama. During 2014 the Philips company will finish building its Center of Excellence in Panama, in which they will concentrate part of their administrative operation and which will house about 200 workers, among whom they are looking for "young brains". With this center, the company expects to continue growing annually at double digits.
In statements given to local media Henk de Jong, the director of Philips for Latin America, recalled that the company opened its headquarters in Panama in 2009 taking advantage of the economic conditions provided by the government of that country for foreign companies and its location to access the region.
Philips' growth in the region will be directed from there and accompanied by sustainability programs. One of the examples is with the World Cup in Brazil. The company is working in several stadiums and as part of its social work gave away 25,000 lighting solutions to improve the quality of life in the favelas.
The executive added that the company's mission is to work for constant innovation but hand in hand with sustainability programs, in order to positively affect the lives of the 180 million inhabitants of Latin America, with the goal of 2025.
