Latin America. D2L announced that "Docente al Día" is expanding the Brightspace by D2L platform for "Tu Clase, Tu País" to Argentina, Brazil, Colombia and Paraguay.
"Tu Clase, Tu País" is a social entrepreneurship initiative that contributes to the quality of education by supporting teachers to find a space for professional development that takes care of the difficulties and challenges they face. It has already been present since 2014 in Chile, Venezuela and the Dominican Republic.
The program is working with the Crescer Institute in Brazil on content translation. Tu Clase, Tu País uses the Brightspace Learning Environment, Brightspace Wiggio, Brightspace Insights, Brightspace Course Catalog and Brightspace ePortfolio solutions to make its virtual learning platform more accessible to teachers.
"Tu Clase, Tu País" markets its project as a learning community for teachers. In this community, teachers take advantage of the tools to improve the training process of their students in the long term. That is why it is important for this project to form communities with collaboration tools.
"We value the Brightspace platform because it is a set of tools that combined offer teachers an online and collaborative learning experience," said Eugenio Severín, co-founder and executive director of Tu Clase, Tu País. They currently have approximately 25,000 teachers. They expect to end this year with 50,000 users.
The professional development proposal of Tu Clase, Tu País offers a lot of flexibility because it adjusts to the availability of the teacher's time, to their specific learning needs by providing personalized training. Through the community, teachers can learn from other teachers by sharing what they know. It is a social and collaborative experience that serves as a pedagogical tool for the work of the teacher.
"We have had a very collaborative relationship with the D2L team to adapt the tools and even make developments that we needed. The stability and flexibility of the platform has allowed us to offer diverse, personalized and social content through the Brightspace platform," concluded Eugenio Severín.
