LED lights are becoming more and more popular, their high level of brightness and intensity, as well as their energy efficiency and long service life, are gradually becoming this technology the favorite of the lighting industry.
Therefore, to talk about the advances that can be expected in the short term for this type of devices, AVI LATINOAMÉRICA had the statements of Jeff Cunius, engineer of the company CSL (Creative Systems Lighting).
First, Cunius stressed that LEDs with higher color temperatures are beginning to be seen, which for architects and designers means that they will be able to increase the impact of light, reducing the number of LEDs needed to illuminate a space, thus generating an even greater reduction in energy costs.
He also said that in the next 10 years LED lights will continue to develop and take more and more strength. "LEDs will improve day by day. Three years ago, when we started using them, we obtained 25 to 30 lumens per watt and today with the advances in temperature up to 100 lumens per watt are reached, "he said.
As for the most demanded products according to his experience, he mentions that they are seeing many requests for photometric devices, which allow to take a luminaire from the system and test it with a specialized machine that shows the place of exit and the exact direction of the light.
"With photometric elements, we can help improve the design process and reduce the number of revisions needed. The architects will have an exact vision of what the final result will be like without room for mistakes," Cunius said.
