International. A sound system for post-production of movies and movie theaters was developed by Dolby, in what the company calls the "a dynamic shift in audio, the reinvention of the traditional surround sound methodology."
Dolby Atmos delivers a powerful new experience with more natural audio. Realistic cinema sound envelops the audience and allows them to hear the whole picture.
For content creators, the system adds control of sound placement and movement anywhere in a theater, allowing them to continue using familiar tools in the processes.
In addition, they can accurately match the sound to the screen action and do so with ease. The films that are made with this system, will arrive at the cinemas with all the possible mixtures separated and configurable according to each room.
For their part, distributors will see the distribution of films simplified through the elimination of inventories of multiple formats, that is, a file will faithfully perform the sound 5.1 or 7.1 up to 64 channels in any theater.
For a good performance of the new audio system, the rooms must have a specific distribution of the speakers, in which those located on the ceiling of the room predominate, directly affecting the spectators. The first Dolby Atmos will begin to be installed in cinemas in the United States, Europe, China and Japan, starting in the second half of the year.
