Colombia The "Smart School" program, which seeks to contribute to the country's educational processes, accelerating the appropriation of technological tools in the classroom and working on interactive digital content that enriches current pedagogical models, began to be implemented in Colombia.
This is a social responsibility program of the Samsung company, which is being carried out in partnership with the Centro Atico of the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana and other important strategic partners, among which are the Grupo Editorial Educar, Pearson Foundation, and Dividendo por Colombia.
In total, this year more than 600 Colombian children belonging to 16 public schools will benefit through the first 'Smart School' classrooms, classrooms that aims to identify new and better pedagogical practices supported by the use of technology in the classroom.
In Colombia, it seeks to generate advances especially in public educational institutions and will allow children to live a totally new training experience where, in addition to learning through electronic devices, they can be integrated into an interactive digital environment that gives them the opportunity to create their own ideas, consume and share content easily and substantially enrich your educational process.
To guarantee the success of this initiative, Samsung 'Smart School' already has the advice of important researchers, such as Jesús Martín Barbero, Germán Rey and Eduardo Gutiérrez, who lead a team of experts in communication, education, technology, philosophy and social sciences.
The goal is that in the next four years, Samsung's program will benefit 4,700 children in the eight main cities of Colombia and will identify the key success factors for the creation of pedagogical models based on the appropriation of ICTs within the framework of an improvement in the quality of public education.
