Mexico. Contemporary institutions have been making increasing use of information technology, through advanced technology within chambers and meeting rooms that allow politicians to have access to a much wider range of information sources and communication tools in the performance of their duties.
An example of this is the seat of the Senate of Mexico, intervened by the Arthur Holm company. The project was conceived in such a way that legislative work can be done in the best conditions and efficiently.
The new headquarters has three components: a semi-circle that has 128 offices for senators, their collaborators and advisers; a tower with the legislative commissions, and last but not least, the congress center, one of the most impressive rooms due to its elliptical geometric shape and which is the main feature for the design of the patriotic "courtyard".
At Mexico's new Senate headquarters, each senator has access to a 12-inch touchscreen of Arthur Holm's Dynamic 2 reference. The table cover plate has been customized to hold a fixed gooseneck microphone, biometric reader, speaker and USB connection.
The screen provides access to daily agendas, discussion agendas, synopsis, and internet connection. Thanks to its retractable system, which can go up and down, users can always have visibility. The goal is to use zero paper and have a sustainable room with the latest technology and a maximum level of efficiency.
According to the company, the installed equipment meets key factors such as energy consumption, life time, functionality, and ease of installation and service. The electricity consumption can be optimized, the devices can be controlled by the groups and the service can be much more efficient.
