How FaceID, the 3D facial recognition terminal works
To improve the capabilities of the recognition terminal, one of the cameras captures the image of the face with visible light, while the other uses infrared light to detect body heat, which activates a sensor and creates a pattern of information in 3D. It also uses a grid of LEDs that together with the two cameras, allow to capture the three-dimensional pattern of the skull.
