International. Vinicio Tanoni, the co-founder of Italian professional audio maker FBT, died on February 20 at his home in Recanati, Italy, surrounded by his family. Tanoni was born on August 3, 1924. He was 92 years old.
During 1963 and in a small workshop, together with Bruno Baldoni; they gave life to "Factory Baldoni Tanoni", better known as FBT. Currently, the products of this Italian company are distributed by more than 100 countries around the world.
From the earliest days, they spent dedes of hard work and dedicated attention to each person inside and outside the company.
FBT's first product was the model 500R guitar amplifier and from there, the company's lineup continued to expand, with amplifiers for electronic organs and accordions, mixers for studios, and live audio and sound systems for nightclubs and amusement parks. Today, FBT offers a complete catalog of P.A., speakers and amplifiers for professional portable sound reinforcement and installation applications, and a line of audio contractor-specific products.
Today, FBT remains in Recanati, although it now operates from a modern 540,000-square-foot production facility that allows the company to stay true to its national quality philosophy. All products are manufactured in Italy, with the entire production cycle, from R&D to tool die design, component assembly and the final construction of each product is managed and implemented internally.
After more than half a century, FBT continues to improve. Tanoni once said, "Our maturity as a company, like good wine, improves over time."
Vinicio Tanoni has been an inspiration and a light, both for everyone who works at FBT, and for all those players in the industry who have been fortunate enough to know him.
The funeral service was held on February 22, in Recanati. He will be deeply missed. Today he can rest in peace.
