Ecuador. Among the most important events that have occurred in Ecuador, it is Habitat III that undoubtedly stands out; not only because it is organized by the UN, but because when it is done once every 20 years, it brings together countless speakers and authorities, and more than 45,000 participants who meet to debate and propose the agenda - development model for the cities of the millennium.
The event lasted 6 days, its preparation and assembly took time; In this sense, once again the UN, The Stargroup-Semaica Consortium and the Government of Ecuador, as the host country, relied on the experience of Multivision in terms of the technical production of simultaneous halls and exhibitions that were part of the roadmap prepared by the UN.
The magnitude of the event represented a great challenge for the company, the conference agenda of HABITAT III required to have 25 rooms with audio, video and lighting equipment enabled simultaneously, with the capacity to receive an average of 150 attendees every 60 minutes, for 9 hours a day. Within these, 14 rooms with simultaneous translation were installed where the main equipment used were the BOSCH DCN systems and some rooms with Williams Sound.
The National Theatre was chosen as the prelude to the habitat III plenary, which was fully equipped with an AVID S6L system, L-acoustics and Bose L1.
The Agora of the House of Culture was the venue of the main event – The Plenary – and it is precisely here where one of the greatest technological challenges for MULTIVISION was presented, since 240 intelligent microphones DISENTIS BOSCH (wireless system powered with 4 BOSCH access points) were installed, this within an environment in which the internet was delivered via wi-fi for attendees through 32 access points (CISCO).
A DCN BOSCH system for 7 simultaneous translation booths (English, Spanish, French, Chinese, Arabic, Turkish, Russian) and 1500 digital multichannel receivers.
So positive and successful has been the experience that the installation scheme in general implemented in the Plenary, will be a case of analysis and study by Congress Rentals worldwide.
The enormous amount of technical equipment required for the Plenary also implied the need to perform detailed structural calculations and, successfully, a Line Array system of 16 L-acoustics K2 could be suspended at 15 m, thus guaranteeing the fidelity of the audio to all attendees, within a stage of 80 x 40 meters, in a physical infrastructure that has acute acoustic limitations.
It is common that in massive events the audio is one of the first difficulties that arise, in this sense MULTIVISIÓN chose to strictly govern the acoustic standards of the manufacturer L-acoustics, the result was a totally audible and even sound at 80 meters. operated by a state-of-the-art Avid S6L-32 console.
Events of this magnitude require the best allies and state-of-the-art technology; Screen Led of 3 pitch full HD, signal transmission of cameras in full HD wireless, Atem of Black Magic, were added to 40 Fresnel Chauvet, minibruts Elation, 120 pair led and the security of suspending equipment with Eurotruss and CM motors.
Habitat III demanded from Multivisión an enormous effort headed by Verónica Bustamante (Project Manager) and by Eng. Sebastián Portilla (Planning Manager) who accompanied by a team of 5 engineers and 32 producers were part of this project; Likewise, Ecuadorian, Argentine, Colombian, North American, Mexican and German technicians dedicated 3,480 hours during 78 working days to the production of the event to technically guarantee the responsibilities entrusted and equipment used; it is they who with their dedication and dedication were a fundamental part of this ambitious project.
Additionally, 4 sound engineers, 2 lighting technicians, 30 interpreters and 116 extra technicians joined Habitat III; and all this with the sole purpose of receiving thousands of attendees to the 1,350 conferences offered and technically successful.
Once again Multivisión fulfilled its objective, thus demonstrating that Ecuador is prepared to plan, coordinate and technically mount all kinds of events.
