InfoComm. The outdoor environment challenges sound system designers and installers. There are large distances to cover, wind and temperatures complicate directivity control, and weather and pests make speaker survival an important factor in the facility.
To help fix these issues, Community will have a Spanish-language training session at InfoComm 2017 called 'Optimizing the Performance of Outdoor Sound Systems'. This session will address these topics from a practical point of view that offers technical details, as needed.
The seminar will examine the various factors that affect the ability to deliver high intelligibility, wide-bandwidth sound over distance, defining achievable design goals, understanding environmental factors, and selecting the 'right' components. Test results measuring the effect of speaker directivity (Q) on signal-to-noise ratios, and the resulting impact on speech intelligibility.
The session takes place on Thursday, June 15 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Orange County Convention Center. The course will provide InfoComm CTS certification renewal units. If you would like to attend the class without earning Renewal Units, please contact Community directly at [email protected]
