Mexico. Driven by an enthusiastic group of regiomontanos, the Pa'l Norte festival has become one of the most powerful, ascendant and important festivals in Mexico, according to the testimonies of various national and international media.
In its stages a fusion of rhythms is achieved where you can enjoy a wide variety of musical genres in its different stages, and in its sixth edition, 72 Maverick MK2 Wash luminaires from Chauvet Professional supplied by Serpro Producciones starred in the lighting design of the central stage.
The festival held outdoors in the legendary Fundidora Park, counted on this occasion with the participation of more than 60 artists and groups headed by Maná, The Killers, Placebo, M.I.A., The Offspring, Kaskade, Jason Derulo, Enanitos Verdes, Nicolas Jaar, Fito Páez and Jarabe de Palo, to name a few, and welcomed about 140,000 visitors during the two days in which it took place.
"The program starts in the middle of the afternoon, when the sun is still shining brightly. This is a great challenge, and to overcome it it is important to have high-power equipment to stand out under these conditions," said Edi Sosa, Head of Lighting at Serpro Producciones. "The Maverick MK2 Wash had no problem showing off at all times, during the two days of the festival."
With 12 Osram RGBW LEDs of 40 Watts each, the Maverick MK2 Wash meets virtually any need for power and color reproduction. The wide zoom range from 7° to 49° provides the flexibility to place them at short or long distances, and the ability to reproduce pixel maps allows them to be used to project graphics and create unique lighting designs.
On the center of the stage were assembled 2 frames of structure, one inside the other, and were placed simulating a diamond. On each side of these two frames 4 Maverick MK2 Wash were installed. On the left and right were located 10 more sections of structure, following the outline of the central diamond. In each section, another 4 MK2 Wash were installed, to add up to a total of 72 equipment.
"This arrangement in combination with the power and wide zoom range of the Mavericks, allowed us to assign them several tasks," Edi said. "In addition to flooding the stage with color, we often use them to highlight a soloist during the performances of the different groups, and also to create aerial effects together with other equipment. We really got spectacular views."
The thousands of fans who packed the stages of the already iconic Pa'l Norte festival, not only enjoyed listening to the hits of their favorite artists. The visual experience they experienced with the extraordinary lighting design of the Serpro Producciones team will surely remain in all of them as a memorable experience.
