International. The women who meet every year at the Women in Consumer Technology had a new appointment within the framework of Cedia Expo. This is an event that has become an inevitable meeting that reached its ninth consecutive edition.
This year, in San Diego, California, the meeting was framed by Keynote Speaker Drew Jacobs of Ariel Group, who gave some guidelines for the women present on how to speak and take leadership in meetings. In addition, the ninth meeting allowed networking and reconnecting with colleagues and friends.
The meeting was also used to recognize the Volunteer of the Year, which this time was awarded to Camila Ballario de Leon Speakers. It was highlighted in her presentation that she was the first woman to work in the company and today there are 12. She has sought to become increasingly involved in the development of the role of women in the industry.
During the day, the Connect Circle program was also discussed, which began in 2014 and aims to generate small groups of women who meet periodically, either in person or virtually, looking for opportunities to learn and grow together.
These groups work with 8-10 people per group. Each group has a Moderator and Facilitator trained to organize the meetings and guide the discussion. The time commitment for the monthly Connect Circle call is approximately 2 hours and each participant suggests topics for the group.
