Colombia. The company Hometech has concentrated on being a wholesale distributor of important brands for the integration of AV technology in the Colombian residential sector. Today, after 15 years in the market, its position has allowed it to have a sales force throughout the country, a training center, stores in Bogotá and Medellín, a relationship with 180 dealers and integrators and even have its own brand of elevators for projectors and televisions.
Mauricio Mejía, CEO of Hometech, told AVI LATIONAMÉRICA that in Colombia home automation is growing and has a lot of potential, but it is necessary to have trained professionals who provide solutions correctly. That is why they created Hometech University, through which they give virtual, face-to-face trainings and even certify about the brands they represent. He also has a close relationship with Cedia, supporting his trainings in Colombia.
To help the development of the market, in recent years the company has opened experience centers in Bogotá and Medellín, where dealers can go with end users and learn first-hand about the different technologies available.
This week, within the framework of TecnoMultimedia InfoComm Colombia, it will inaugurate the new headquarters of its experience center in Bogotá, a large place in which they will have different spaces equipped with the latest in home automation and AV technology, as well as an auditorium for training with capacity for 40 people.
Today Hometech has in its portfolio Sony home cinema projectors, Elite Screen screens, its own Liftech elevators, focal sound systems, Onkyo, and other brands such as Snap AV, Sonos, Panamax, Hai, Leviton, Kef and Control 4.
The latter, during the most recent version of Cedia Expo in San Diego, gave it recognition as its best distributor in all of Latin America. Mauricio Mejía commented that for 11 years they have represented the brand for Colombia and have managed to have Contro 4 technology installed in more than 8,200 projects.
