Absen installed robotic 3D videowall in Gitex

International. At Gitex Technology Week 2018, which took place at the Dubai World Trade Center, UAE, Absen's LED technology was deployed at the stands of two of the leading global technology companies, Huawei and Etisalat, to highlight their innovations.

Etisalat, part of Emirates Telecommunication Group Company PJSC, is a multinational telecoms service provider based in the Emirates, currently operating in 16 countries in Asia, the Middle East and Africa. At the 38th Gitex Technology Week, it showcased its efforts towards the development of autonomous transport and connected car technologies in the Emirates, which are an integral part of Dubai's "Autonomous Transport Strategy".

In the Etisalat Z1-A20 and Z1-A10 booths in Zabeel Hall, Absen LED's 3D robotic video walls surprised visitors, adding a whole new dimension to the on-screen content and making sure to capture the attention of passers-by.

Etisalat's main theme at this year's Gitex Technology Week focused on "Driving the Digital Future to Empower Societies," which was based on the company's vision of providing futuristic solutions and services that will have a fundamental impact on people's lives. To demonstrate the "future of mobility", four mobile LED video walls with 1,464 Absen D3V modules were installed around the center of the cabin: a 11mx2.5m master screen at the head of the stand, two 6mx5m screens on both sides and a 2mx2m screen on the back. Each module on the screen moves independently, creating a unique, multi-sensory 3D video experience for the audience.

The combination of kinetic LED displays and 3D robotics is the perfect combination of AV technology and artificial intelligence (AI), which integrates seamlessly into the show environment and displays the content in a highly creative and innovative way. The result is a high-impact visual performance that uniquely blends with the theme and vision of etisalat's showcase.

"GITEX is the largest and most recognized regional exhibition in the Middle East and we know it is very important to our partner Etisalat. We have collaborated with each other for years and are proud to have their trust," said Jet Liu, absen's sales manager who had participated in the visual design of the Etisalat booth, "after they shared their ideas with us late last year, we started working towards achieving an ideal custom LED solution; in the meantime, we support them with an Absen D3V demonstration so they can test how robots from different manufacturers work with our LED modules."

Each LED module moves independently, creating multiple display surfaces. The LED modules are individually mounted on the robotic arms to create the desired motion effect. For the solution to work, the flat wires connecting the modules and power boxes had to be extended behind the arms and the bucket plates also had to be redesigned to create enough space.
