Latin America. Lutron Electronics announced the first integration of a product with Ring, which aims to support the safety of communities. Now, lights controlled by a Lutron system can be set to turn on when a linked Ring device detects motion or a Video Ring Ring is pressed. Adding lighting to these events adds another layer of security and encourages the impression that someone is home.
This new integration is supported by Lutron Caseta and the RA2 Select intelligent lighting control system and compatible Ring devices.
The partnership between Lutron and Ring combines the best of both brands, offering users a sense of security, convenience and a welcoming environment for family and friends. Residents of a home can program Lutron-controlled lights to turn on when movement is detected outside, have the entrance door lights come on when someone touches their Video Doorbell Ring, or use advanced motion settings to welcome guests with the right light as they approach the front door.
"Lutron is excited to announce this integration with Ring, which unites two leaders in their industries: Lutron, as a leader in lighting control and Ring, at the forefront of the smart video doorbell and security camera industry," said Matt Swatsky, Vice President of Residential Mid-market Business at Lutron Electronics. "A home that features Lutron and Ring systems and devices can now have indoor or outdoor lights that respond to the activation of a doorbell or motion detection by a compatible Ring device, giving occupants personalized control and adding to their sense of security."
The integration between Lutron and Ring is easily customized, allowing owners to decide which lights are connected to their Ring devices and which will turn on during a Ring event. For example, when a Video Ring rings, the outside light at the entrance and that of the room can be programmed to turn on, but when the Garage's Ring Security Camera detects movement, users can have the patio lights come on.
The inhabitants of the house can also customize their settings according to the time of day, so that the lights only turn on during an activity between dusk and dawn. Customization can be easily done through the Lutron App, available for iOS and Android devices, as well as the Amazon Fire tablet.
The integration will be available in Mexico at the end of September, visit the Lutron website for more information.
