Atlona launched HDMI/USB-C Switcher and HDBaseT transmitter

atlonaLatin America. Atlona revealed the latest device in its Omega series of audio and video integration solutions for the modern work and gasket environment: the AT-OME-SW21-TX-WPC WALL BOARD AND TRANSMITTER SWITCHER.

This new device, the successor to Atlona's popular AT-HDVS-210U-TX-WP, uniquely combines the selection of HDMI and USB-C sources with both audio/video and USB data extensions in a one-gang register mounting board package.

David Shamir, Vice President of Product Management at Atlona, said: "The exponential growth of online meetings and soft-codec conferencing has reinforced the importance of USB data in today's ever-changing audio and video workflows. The transition from shared devices to BYOD ('Bring Your Own Device') also continues to accelerate, increasing the need for discrete audio/video connectivity even in high-visibility locations.

The OME-SW21-TX-WPC builds on our proven family of wall plate transmitters with audio, video and USB data connectivity with a single cable and an integrated USB hub to meet these new needs efficiently."

The OME-SW21-TX-WPC transmits audio, video, control and also USB data signals via HDBaseT when combined with the AT-OME-EX-RX receiver or AT-OME-SR21 switch/receiver over distances of up to 100 meters. The transmitter supports video sources up to 4K/UHD at 60 Hz with 4:2:0 color subsampling and complies with the HDCP 2.2 protocol for the presentation of protected content.

The OME-SW21-TX-WPC's USB-C input supports both audio/video and data, allowing for simple single-cable connectivity to recent models of Mac, Chromebook, and Windows computers, as well as smartphones and tablets with USB-C ports that support audio/video streaming.

Separate USB 2.0 interfaces and the built-in USB hub support an additional host system or USB and a peripheral device such as a speaker or microphone, transforming the device into an ideal extension solution for soft codec and internet-based conferencing applications when paired in conjunction with a compatible Omega switcher or receiver. The USB Type-B Host interface can be connected in parallel with the HDMI port for an organized selection of video and data sources.

The OME-SW21-TX-WPC also includes powerful automation features that enable hands-free operation, offering presenters, educators, and board participants a convenient yet discreet audio/video and data interface on walls, tables, or floor boxes. Automatic input selection intelligently switches between inputs when sources are connected or disconnected; while an automatic display control turns compatible monitors and projectors on and off without the need for an external control system or user intervention.

The OME-SW21-TX-WPC's ultra-compact single-gang design minimizes space requirements, while the included black and white finishing kits allow for discreet installations in a wide range of environments. Power is provided remotely by HDBaseT from an Omega receiver or array, simplifying wiring while maximizing installation flexibility.

The OME-SW21-TX-WPC is immediately available through Atlona's global network of authorized partners and channels and is backed by our award-winning 10-year limited product warranty.
