Peru. After a long wait caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, and based on an initiative by Dblux, the live concerts returned to the stages of Peru. The luminaries of CHAUVET Professional were, once again, the ones who took over the eyes of the 3000 attendees of the festival.
On July 17 at 3 pm at the Arena Peru in the city of Lima, it will be marked on the calendars as the moment when music once again sheltered the soul of the Peruvian people. After an initiative by Dblux, Activando Cultura was the first face-to-face concert whose main objective was the reactivation of music in that South American country.
Among the main bands that took the stage were Armonía 10, Son Tentación, Amaranta and Olaya Sound System.
The RECTIVATE project was a proposal of Dblux and arises with the firm idea of its CEO, Andrés Cuadros, to achieve the recovery of the live concert market in Peru after a year and a half of a strict mandatory confinement. Peru has a rich and varied musical culture, that is why it was absolutely necessary for someone with vision and perseverance, to decide to put their artists back on stage. And Dblux, Andres Cuadros and CHAUVET Professional succeeded.
Reactivate's success exceeded the organizers' expectations. That festival kicked off what triggered a series of four more festivals, and many others that are being diagrammed.
The first show held in the amphitheater of the Exhibition Park was attended by 3,000 attendees, which was the maximum authorized by the Ministry of Health of Peru. Compliance with health regulations was severely controlled, which allowed no infections to be recorded among festival attendees.
The lights once again covered the sky of the Lima night. And the luminaires manufactured by CHAUVET Professional were chosen to bring live concerts back to life. "A Chauvet lighting platform was specified as they are 100% reliable and extreme quality products. They are first-class products, which ensure us a successful event," said Cuadros.
Among the luminaires used were the Rogue R2X Wash and the COLORado Batten 144 Tour. "We needed a luminaire that would allow us to achieve the versatility demanded by the different performances. The atmosphere on stage was constantly changing because the different performances were very different from each other. And the Rogue R2X Wash allowed us to deal with those multiple facets," Cuadros acknowledged.
"The white light offered by the Rogue R2 allows us to achieve a homogeneous target over the entire stage. That was a fundamental point since they allowed the live projections of the concert to achieve a shocking effect through the different screens placed in Arena Peru," said Andrés Cuadros.
Ronald Alvarado, assembly designer of Dblux was the one who specified the incorporation of the luminaires to the lighting platform. They were placed in different trusses on the ceiling and floor of the stage, and as a backdrop in order to achieve different atmospheres for the different performances demanded by the various musical genres.
Along with Ronald Alvarado, the participation of Johann Cervantes as Producer of the event, Rodolfo Vilches, as Technical Producer and Andres Cuadros as supplier of all audio, stage and lighting equipment stood out.
Peru is a country that has a high index of humidity and salinity. During most of the year, humidity marks a constant trend that remains at 90%. "Humidity in Peru is the factor that does the most damage to lighting products. The luminaires were stored in the trunks for 18 months. Many have not performed proper maintenance. In Dblux we have products from several manufacturers and, due to the humidity, many presented problems in the electronics. The cost of repair is very high for this time in the market. But our Chauvet luminaires have not presented that problem. Another example of its quality," said Cuadros.
