International. The technology of Christie, official projection and display partner of Expo 2020 Dubai, was selected to showcase content and deliver memorable experiences throughout the venue. Creative Technology Middle East is the AV integrator in charge of the dome of the Al Wasl Plaza Pavilion, the heart of the exhibition.
The audience of millions of spectators who connected to contemplate the opening ceremony were amazed at the extraordinary performances and technological advances offered by the more than a thousand people who participated in the premiere.
The spectacular 90-minute immersive show showcased the incredible dome of Al Wasl Plaza, the world's largest 360º projection surface, and a never-before-seen festival of technology, starring 252 Christie D4K40-RGB pure laser projectors. Working closely throughout the entire design, supply and installation process with local integrator Creative Technology Middle East, it was decided to encapsulate the projectors within the inner perimeter of the dome.
The projectors were launching images, visible from inside and outside, on a projection surface 130 meters wide. The projectors, energy efficient and of great visual richness and sharpness, set the bar of image quality very high. The mix of solutions and installation was carried out by Creative Technology Middle East, the AV integration company that won the competition called for that purpose.
Joe Graziano, Director of Entertainment Sales emea, explains: "We are very proud to participate in an event of the global importance of Expo 2020 Dubai. As official projection and display partners of the Expo, we are delighted that success has come so soon and convinced that our projectors will help Expo visitors from all corners of the world take home an indelible memory."
Andy Reardon, President of Creative Technology Middle East, said: "That our company was chosen to perform AV integration in such an iconic facility as Expo 2020 is a great honour. As it is to have worked over the last few years side by side with christie's team and its technology. A joint work that is now reflected in the setting up of the largest 360º mapping projection in the world. My desire is to continue working with them in the future."
With more than 200 pavilions to be explored by its visitors, Expo 2020 Dubai will remain open until 31 March 2022. In addition to the visit to the pavilions, the Expo organizes every day an endless number of activities, such as discussion tables or cultural events.
