InfoComm. Between June 14 and 16 comes InfoComm Show 2017, the most important and anticipated expo of the AV industry, which this year will again host the Orange County Convention Center in the city of Orlando, Florida.
More than a thousand exhibitors with hundreds of products, novelties and main trends in the audiovisual industry and 40,000 visitors from 110 countries and an agenda of events, seminars, trainings and meetings that will be open from June 10 to 16, is what the 2017 edition of InfoComm offers this year at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida.
The opening reception will be held on Tuesday, June 13 at Mango's Tropical Cafe and will be an event with free admission for all visitors to the expo.
The fairground will have five thematic pavilions: Audio, Digital Signage, Immersive Technologies, Lighting and Staging; and Unified Communications and Collaboration. All of them will exhibit the most innovative and highest quality products, applications, devices and services on the market.
Education and storytelling at InfoComm
In 2016 more than 2,500 industry professionals took advantage of the agenda of workshops, courses and seminars, were updated and trained in fundamental topics for their daily work. This year the event will have a complete academic program designed and executed by InfoComm University™, composed of more than 150 seminars between one and two hours long.
InfoComm's educational program is recognized for its variety and professional quality. The thematic grid will delve into various topics including the main trends in AV products and applications, collaboration and unified communications, trends in emerging technologies, technology management, smart building technology, IT and networks, business, administration and training for manufacturers.
In addition, the intensive three-day courses will be held to dive deep into essential topics of AV, advanced design, networkED AV and much more.
Other educational novelties that will enrich the learning offer of InfoComm 2017 will be the trainings for vendors and computer labs, the latter will be four-hour activities in which attendees can create applications, analyze traffic to a network or hack a network to test its security.
Storytelling, Career Fair and gender perspective
This year a new non-technical and experimental conference format called TIDE will be held at InfoComm in which visitors will have the opportunity to learn how storytelling strategy is being used to achieve business goals and the critical role the AV industry plays in the creative process and delivering a compelling story.
For the fourth consecutive year the Career Fair will be held, there recently graduated professionals or about to receive in AV careers will have a unique opportunity to meet the main employers of the audiovisual industry, companies that are in the search for candidates that meet their profiles and expectations. The Career Fair gives them the possibility of forming a network of work between professionals and entrepreneurs in the sector. This activity will take place between June 14 and 16, within the framework of the fair.
On Wednesday, June 15, between 7:30 and 9:30 in the morning, the breakfast of the InfoComm women's network will be held, an activity in which men and women analyze and talk about the current challenges faced by women in the AV industry and propose initiatives in the face of these challenges.
At this edition of the fair, Women of InfoComm President Penny Sitler and InfoComm Senior Vice President of Member Services Betsy Jaffe will present an update on the organization's recent initiatives on women's issues and present the new Women's Career Empowerment Alliances program, sessions of small groups of women that meet monthly under the guidance of a facilitator to share on this topic.
Guided tours
Among the activities with the highest call are the tours. In this edition the organization of the Expo has planned two exciting and enriching tours that will take visitors on a journey through innovation and entertainment. One of them will be the University of Central Florida, a renovated infrastructure with 23 new AV spaces and a divisible conference room.
The second tour will be a visit to the theater of the creative group Blue Man Group, in which you can interact with the members of its cast and see a 30-minute show.
Alternative events
Attendees at InfoComm 2017 will have a triple opportunity to get to know the AV industry from all segments, as two parallel events will be held within the framework of the expo.
One of the events is the UBTech 2017 conference to be held at the Omni Champions Gate Resort in Orlando and is aimed at technology managers or IT leaders for higher education institutions. It will have two renowned keynote speakers and over 80 powerful sessions to explore opportunities for innovative growth in IT, AV, and student and institutional success.
