Latin America. Technological advances have permeated all areas of daily life, and the entertainment industry is no exception, where through the advancement of applied science in this sector, changes and trends facilitate the path to new development opportunities through the impact that affects better experiences towards the audience.
Through the so-called digital interconnection, the development of new technologies in Latin America has managed to occupy a position of relevance in the development strategies and policies of the countries that make it up, however, there is still a low level of investment in innovation activities, which is a characteristic phenomenon of these economies, compared to other developed and emerging countries.
Well, while in European countries they gradually return to face-to-face events, for the Latin American region, there is still a long way to go to return to face-to-face interaction, meanwhile it has been achieved over a year that the entertainment industry through various streaming platforms are constituted as the immediate entertainment resource of Internet users who are still waiting for better conditions allow the gradual return to the concentration of people.
Given this condition, Barco's experts have given themselves the task of classifying the 4 main technological trends that have come to revolutionize and facilitate through new entertainment opportunities, allowing that, through quality solutions, digital transformation within Latin America is possible.
5G network technology:
The adaptation of the new fifth-generation technology has as its main characteristic to be able to establish the connection practically in real time, therefore, the number of connected devices will tend to be greater in the future. Faced with this new update of conventional networks, the Secretariat of Telecommunications of the Government of Chile, with the support of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), created the National 5G Observatory, which is constituted through multiple public and private institutions, to promote research, development, training and innovation of this technology.
This technological approach as a great step to ensure that innovation can be increasingly visualized for the benefit of people, since the impact on intelligent technologies and video-related content applications such as Barco solutions, which have a wide catalog in entertainment, visualization and even immersive screens, demonstrate the feasibility for the events and entertainment sector in the present and future.
Processing power:
Another point to consider is the increasing capacity of the central processing unit (CPU), which in the last year has been an important focus on the processing of data by companies and institutions, and which is not limited to it, because with the increase of new software codes and algorithmic developments, that exploit multi-core processors, continue the path to better CPU performance and an acceleration in the power of the Graphics Processing Unit (GPU).
In this sense, for the events industry it represents an enormous benefit, since it works directly with screen management systems and display solutions that, through the innovations of the sector, is nourished by new possibilities and wider applications.
"The processing needs themselves are generated through the demands that the same market has, so to speak, where the content becomes more demanding towards other formats, such as HDR, 8K or 3D, solutions with the ability to efficiently compress image, video and high-resolution display technologies, that enable workflow flexibility more optimally." Manuel Navarrete, Sales Manager Barco in Colombia, stood out.
Real-time rendering:
Among the facilitators to improve the workflow in live events, is the Real Time Rendering (RTR), which allows you to plan the content to a greater extent, that is, show the interested parties how the final result will look. This feature is an essential resource within Barco's entertainment screens, as it allows the increase of the levels of interactivity in live events.
Augmented Reality (AR):
Finally, the aforementioned resources lead to the advances of augmented reality, because indisputably, the future of events is based on the impulse to scale AR applications to the live entertainment industry, since its applicability in various sectors, allow the obtaining of a total immersion, from a playing field to a concert with 3D technology.
"Visualization technologies for events are a resource that allows to exploit all sensory sensations, therefore, through innovation in Barco, we create an entire ecosystem of solutions that provide interactive, immersive and impactful experiences, in all areas of entertainment," concluded Manuel Navarrete, Sales Manager Barco in Colombia.
