CES. GE Lighting is showcasing the expansion of its smart home ecosystem, Cync, at CES 2023 with several new products, including the Dynamic Effects entertainment lineup featuring 16 million colors, preset and custom light shows, on-device music syncing and more.
In addition, Cync will expand its Wafer line of lighting fixtures following a successful launch last year. As with all Cync products, they can be controlled via the Cync app, powered by Savant. Cync will also adopt the new Matter smart home standard with several compatible products launching this year and will roll out an integration with Schlage.
"We look forward to launching additional Cync Dynamic Effects products that expand our immersive and innovative smart home ecosystem to bring even more personalization and fun to the home," said Kara Perdue, vice president of product management for GE Lighting. "Our new Cync products work seamlessly together in a single application and feature the same premium quality and attention to detail that characterizes all GE-branded Cync products."
Immersive lighting experience
Following the launch of Cync Dynamic Effects indoor and outdoor smart light strips late last year, the new family of lighting options for entertainment is expanding with the introduction of Cync Dynamic Effects smart hexagonal panels, Cync Dynamic Effects neon-shaped smart lights, and Cync Dynamic Effects Smart Light Bulbs in Aline and indoor projectors.
With the ability to control via the Cync app, powered by Savant, without the need for a hub or bridge, the Cync Dynamic Effects line delivers the best entertainment and an enhanced gaming experience. Each new product features multicolored light shows, on-device music syncing, and vivid light effects displaying 16 million colors and white hues, including multiple colors simultaneously. This family of high-end smart products instantly elevates entertainment lighting both inside and out.
Cync is synchronized with matter
GE Lighting will add Matter compatibility to its product line throughout 2023. Following its participation in CSA's Matter Working Group, the Cync Full Color Direct Connect smart bulb and Cync Indoor smart plug will be the first products to transition to Matter-compatible versions, with more products to be updated shortly thereafter.
These Matter-compatible products will replace previous versions when they hit stores. Previously produced Cync products are not expected to receive retroactive updates from Matter at this time.
Insured with Schlage
To continue building on the success of the Cync app, powered by Savant and provide consumers with more complete home smart home security solutions in 2023, GE Lighting announced a new integration with Schlage, an Allegion brand and provider of home security and access solutions.
The solution will provide users with an easy-to-install and control experience that provides greater security and protection at home. An integration, made possible through the award-winning Cync app, powered by Savant, will connect the growing Cync smart lighting product portfolio with Schlage Encode Smart WiFi Deadbolt and Schlage Encode Plus Smart WiFi Deadbolt to set up automations that lock the lock. Activity to lighting actions.
