Latin America. Sonos announced that Amazon Alexa will be available on compatible Sonos devices in additional countries to give users a new and simple way to control their Sonos speakers with their voice.
Alexa will give more users an easy way to play music, set timers and alarms, check the weather, control home automation devices, and more with simple commands.
Available on Sonos devices via a free software update coming in spring 2023, the new voice feature will now work in 27 additional markets: Argentina, Belgium, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Denmark, Ecuador, Finland, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Netherlands, Norway, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand and Turkey.
"We believe nothing should stand between you and your audio content, which is why Sonos is committed to giving its users easy ways to connect with the content they love," said Joe van Zyl, Director of Product Management. "We've seen how our users enjoy using their favorite voice commands with Alexa to play music and control other home automation devices. We're excited to make Alexa available to more users around the world."
Countries that will now have this feature will have access to the international version of Alexa, which has voice control in English, French, German, Italian and Spanish.
Users can enjoy Alexa on a variety of voice-controlled Sonos devices such as Sonos Roam, Move, Arc, Beam, Five and One.
