Colombia. In September 2022, the company Yamaki took over as the wholesale distributor of Blackmagic Design for Colombia. After the good results in the first months, there will be a relaunch of the brand, which includes different activities in several cities of the country.
Oswaldo Rueda, general manager of Yamaki, highlighted the results of these first months that "Blackmagic is a prestigious brand that comes to Yamaki as a complement to the portfolio of solutions we have, where we put together a work team to develop the brand in Colombia, as we do with the other brands we represent, with a local distributor that supports the brand, and with which the local Distributor network has access to product availability, issues in which we have been working hard in order to have the right inventory for Colombia".
He added that Blackmagic will become one of the main brands of Yamaki and its allies, because it has products and solutions that apply to the three verticals in which Yamaki works: the Consumer market, MAVC, in the projects in the market of Embedded Systems, SI, and in the professional market, AVIP.
Alexander Rodriguez, Blackmagic Support Engineer at Yamaki, said: "Blackmagic Design's product portfolio has a solution for every audiovisual niche market. Our regular clients are lawyers, doctors, ordinary people who find in our solutions an answer to their needs for creating audiovisual content, without complications. The situation of budget reduction and economic recession, has put Blackmagic Design on the radar of very important customers in the Broadcast industry. On the other hand, more advanced users such as audiovisual producers, videographers, YouTube, Streamers, among others, also prefer Blackmagic Design".
During the month of March, Yamaki will make a relaunch of Blackmagic in Colombia. In this regard, Edgar Rincón, Commercial Manager of the Colombian company, stressed that they will gather a group of friends from different sectors of the audiovisual industry in Colombia on March 14 in the city of Bogotá and on Thursday, March 16 in the city of Medellín.
"This is an event that we have called Blackmagic Week Colombia, in which attendees will be able to know the complete workflow of the BMD environment, presenting a Blackmagic Design WorkFlow, with the powerful and affordable URSA digital cameras, the ATEM LIVE Production systems, and the Davinci Resolve editing and finishing software."
Guests will include Tor Johansen, Cinematography Product Specialist BMD and Diego Yhama, Master Trainer Davince Resolve BMD. In addition, he will be sharing experiences with Rick Fernández, Managing Director of the brand, who will tell what is the vision of the brand in the near future, what new products and launches it will have for this year, and details of BMD's participation in the main international fairs.
In 2022, the technology industry was affected by the shortage of microcomponents that ended up affecting the availability of products. On this subject, Oswaldo Rueda indicated that "one of the main challenges of 2022 and what we continue to live in 2023 is the lack of availability of products. In the case of Blackmagic, at the moment we are not experiencing this phenomenon, since they are practically dispatching 95% to 100% of the products we are ordering, despite the large number of references that the brand has, helping us to satisfy the Colombian market in all its solutions. "
Finally, about the plans with Blackmagic in 2023, Edgar Rincón said that "We will be traveling through the main cities of the country in a process of technical training and demonstrations of the different categories of products that the brand has. All this to continue positioning BMD as the most efficient option in relation to cost benefit for the end user. Our purpose is to accompany users in Colombia in the design and specification of all the workflows required by each one within their audiovisual production chain. Our exclusive support engineer for the brand will accompany the various projects that are generated in each region of the country."
