Colombia. For the Colombian company Integración AV, 2023 will be a great year, despite the challenges presented by the market. This was stated by Juan Carlos Gutiérrez, its general manager, in conversation with AVI Latin America.
"We have new people in our sales force who have closed new projects and helped acquire new customers. I understand that it is a challenging year for the country and the world due to inflation, the exchange rate issue and the increase in interest rates to finance projects that need large investments such as technology projects, but I am aware of the leading role that technology has in people's daily activities, " Explained.
He stressed that this year started with a lot of activity. They are currently working on a large project with the Javeriana University and another with Pfizer, but during these months they have also developed smaller ones for Procolombia, the Cardiovascular Hospital of Cundinamarca and Compensar, among others.
"We have also participated in the design of several projects with a client in the education sector that we hope will be executed in the coming months, which means more work for companies and integrators in the sector. And we have developed several Crestron programs for other integrators in Panama, Guatemala and some here in Colombia, so I can't complain, it's been a good start," added Juan Carlos Gutierrez.
On future trends, he acknowledged that there is a clear interest in artificial intelligence and metaverse or augmented reality, but all this is seen as a medium-term future for the market, because there are applications that still need to have more development to be able to take them to boardrooms or classrooms.
"We see that customers are more interested in the short term in understanding and appropriating video conferencing, equipment and technology acquired in pandemic, many move between Zoom, Teams, Google Meet and other video conferencing systems that still generate many challenges. There is a lot of interest in everything that is the internet of things and automation of spaces, companies are attracted to smart classrooms and classrooms, "he said.
Finally, he pointed out that InfoComm Show "is not only the space to go to see new products and have contact with brands. For us, the fair is also a space that allows us to do a lot of networking and meet companies in the sector with which we can ally to develop projects together. For example, in the Fiesta Alegría we find many integrators of the Latino community, who when presented with projects and opportunities in other countries of the region, can be a good tool to move them forward. The fair in general brings us a lot."
