Mexico. In 2003, an integration firm that operates in both the audiovisual and broadcast industries began operations. Today, two decades later, Viewhaus grows and strengthens, with an important vision for the future and sustainability. About this anniversary, AVI LATINOAMÉRICA spoke with its director, Juan Carlos Medina.
"The truth is that we had a very good result from the first year. We were born with Sony but soon approached very important companies to seek their support, including Extron. In addition to the television channels that we attended with the production teams, the universities opened the doors for us to integrate mainly in the classrooms. We also approached other companies in the sector, with the engineer Jaime Celis we opened a line of work with the brands of Audio Representations, mainly with Shure. Today these brands are still with us," he recalled about his beginnings.
In these 20 years in the technology industry, there have been many changes and evolutions that Viewhaus and its team have experienced and supported. Juan Carlos Medina mentioned some, such as the change of standard in the definition of television, going from SD to HD and today we talk about 4K. "I mark high definition as a milestone because I think Sony mainly, among other brands, democratized High Definition, that is, they began to release low-cost or very affordable products that then put customers with the possibility of migrating to digital, but also in this definition. This happened in the first three years of the company."
For the growth of the company, it has been very important to be close to its customers and keep them informed and trained. Therefore, they decided to make visits to small cities in different regions of the country, with technology talks and hand in hand with the manufacturers they represented. He assured that these tours were very successful and with people very grateful for reaching their cities in the regions, the same ones who later left customers.
Other important factors for this growth have been Viewhaus' intention to keep its work team very well trained, professionals in the industry. For this they have counted since 2010 with the link to AVIXA. Then, in 2018 to PSNI, which put them on the international stage to work on global projects. And in 2019 they were chosen as one of the best places to work in the audiovisual industry, an award given by PSNI, endorsed by one by an independent institution.
"For us it was important to appear for the first time in the fifth place of the TOP 100 audiovisual integrators with greater recognition of AVI Latin America. Appearing there in the mention for us was a source of great pride and also of a lot of commitment, because we knew that after several years of being in the market, customers located us and had an expectation of us, which makes us want to be better to continue providing our customers with the best possible product and service. " highlighted the director of Viewhaus.
Today there are 45 people who are part of Viewhaus in three locations located in Guadalajara, San Luis Potosí and Mexico City. The line of audiovisual integration is in which they are stronger and generates the largest volume of projects, mainly in education and corporate. But broadcast projects were what allowed them to get through the pandemic smoothly and are still an important line.
Finally, when talking about the future plans of the company, Juan Carlos Medina said that they seek to "continue on this path of excellence, because we have tried to be a company that delivers solutions and products of excellence and we know that we have to evolve, we are thinking very strongly or in a very insistent way on the subject of starting to provide solutions to audiovisual services as a Service, something we are preparing to see how we are going to offer these types of services."
They have also been working sustainability. For some years now, Viewhaus has been working internally on the development of sustainability policies. Now they seek to project that work to the industry, for this recently Juan Carlos Medina was appointed as ambassador of SaVe for Mexico, being one of the first in Latin America. This is an association of industry companies that seeks to establish circular economy and sustainability policies in the AV world.
"We seek to give a correct path to sustainability issues in the audiovisual industry. What we have to look at most is the issue of electronic waste, because the amount of electronic waste that is being generated is really alarming and I think we all have to put a grain of sand to make it less. And that we can enter this circle of circular economy, worth the redundancy, because in the end many things can be rescued. "
